Lunchtime Treats - Youth is on the Menu

Rye Arts Festival has two lunchtime concerts featuring young musicians under its Ryesing Stars banner
(it is a pun kind of town). The first, on Tuesday 17th September at 1pm in Rye's Methodist Church, features Canadian violinist Katie Stillman with pianist Simon Lane. The pair have been playing together since 2005 and have won numerous awards both jointly and individually. Their programme consists of work by Bartok, Kongold and Franck.

And on Friday 27th September, at the same time and place, the featured artistes will be the Jacquin Trio - who play the clarinet, viola and piano. Winners of the St Martins-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition in 2012 the trio have already attracted a lot of attention for their outstanding musicianship.

Their programme will consist of pieces by Mozart, Schumann and Bruch plus a composition by Simon Rowland-Jones which was especially written for them. To find out more about the Jacquin Trio click HERE.

Both concerts have been kindly and generously sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Musicians which does tremendous work to promote and provide considerable financial support to help young musicians early in their careers.
