Due to heavy demand, a further World War II Walk has been added to this year's Rye Arts Festival on Friday 27th September.
It starts at 11am at the Gun Gardens (next to Ypres Tower) and Peter MacKezie Smith then leads a walk around the town looking at and talking about bomb sites, defences against the potential German invasion, the Battle of Britain and how life in Rye was affected on a day-to-day level during the was.
The walk includes lunch at the Queens Head and is restricted in numbers to just 15. Tickets, costing £22, can be bought from the Box Office, which is at Phillips & Stubbs in Cinque Ports Street and is open from 9.30am to 1pm Monday to Saturdays. Or call 01797 224442.
